Poolga

Art and wallpapers for iPhone, iPad and other mobile devices created by selected illustrators and designers.

About Poolga

Poolga is about art and design on hand-held devices and discovering talented illustrators and designers. We think that the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad are great devices for carrying around, displaying and sharing art. We mostly focus on illustration, graphic design and typography.

The team

Poolga came to life in 2007 when we got our hands on the (then) revolutionary iPhone. We soon wanted to customize it with a decent wallpaper so naively googled "iPhone wallpaper", which proved to be a big mistake. After going through hundreds of cheesy natural landscapes, babes, cars and other similar themes we decided we had to create our own wallpapers and asked our friends to create some too. Apparently lots of other people had the same problem, so we shared them on a website. That's how Poolga was born.

Poolga (pronounced "pool-gah") is the nickname that a friend used to call her baby before she was born. In Spanish "pulga" means "flea". The baby is now called Sofia.
